This is an in-camera, multi-exposure. The foreground "crystal-scape" set was constructed on a light-table and shot on transparency film. The background elements were exposed (on the same sheet of film) with the foreground set darkened -effectively self-masking the background. A straight-forward, simple shot with a nice result.
